Buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder
Understanding Addiction
Chemical dependency with associated mental health disorders has become one of the most severe health and social problems in the United States. Our body produces varying amounts of brain chemicals called endorphins. The endorphins help us to experience pleasure, feel good or bad, anxious or relaxed. Some persons are born with fewer endorphins than others related to their genetic makeup. Those with fewer endorphins tend to be drawn to chemicals and continued use of substances may lead to addiction is a chronic brain disease of the brain affecting the neurochemistry and brain receptor sites of the brain causing the individual to need drugs as much as they biologically need to eat and breathe.
Outpatient programs
Our outpatient program provide opioid treatment through both telehealth and in-person visits allowing you the flexibility to get professional help while continuing to go to work or school. The program offers Buprenorphine, Naltrexone and Naloxone based products as well as counseling services that help you eventually stop opioid use and achieve long term recovery. We have expert staff who works closely with you to determine the most beneficial medications and counseling that fits your specific needs and recovery goals
Counseling
Our counseling services are designed to help you make the behavioral and life style changes that will empower you to stay in recovery for life. The services may include individual or group therapy which may help you to learn about addiction and recovery, addressing the root causes of your opioid use and gain new coping skills to help you prevent relapse. We do not discriminate and we provide a nonjudgmental environment where you can discover a community of people who share similar experiences and can provide supportive recovery network.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
The MAT involves taking prescription medications such as Buprenorphine, Naltrexone and Methadone to help you to stop using opioids without experiencing painful withdrawals or distressing cravings. Our providers will work with you to find adequate type and dosage of medication that is best for you. The medications do not produce the same euphoric effects as opioids or limit your ability to function. When you take them as prescribed, you can be fully engaged in counseling and progress towards a lasting recovery. To be eligible for treatment, you have to be 18 years and older and must have been dependent upon opiates for a minimum of one year prior to treatment.
